IN THE MORNING

The sun rose yesterday and we started our day off in a fun way. We played with friends. No one got hurt or cried or threw themselves on the floor in a tantrum, so by my mommy standards it was a nice play date.  Oh...and the kids were well behaved too! (wocka wocka wocka)

And then the sun went down...
And we prayed, and we stood in line...
When my son asked me what we were doing I told him "Mommy and Daddy are going to go change the world!" I like to pump up our freedoms but I know I'm not alone.

Then we went home and we watched the results roll in, and ended our Election Day.

And in the Morning, we prayed again. We prayed for our President, and the big job he has ahead.

Today's Reflection:
I love voting, I love everything it means and entails. Sometimes my guy wins and sometimes he doesn't. As a mom, I've been trying to teach my son the following "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play the game" It's something so juvenile, even Elmo teaches it, but it's something we have to remember, even as adults. I have the urge to grumble about certain things, but is that how I really want to play the game? Is that how I want to walk away from this election?
Instead I thank God for the opportunities he gives us here in America, I trust the plans he has for us. I try to look beyond my own ballot and look at the hearts of others with respect and love.

And in the morning we pray.

"The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live."
